FAQs
Does CYC Health require previous consulting experience?
No! CYC Health does not require any formal consulting or business experience. We look for students who are genuinely motivated to bettering and serving health-based organizations in Los Angeles. We believe that students who have the skills to think critically and rely on their problem-solving ability from a variety of backgrounds are the best fit for our consulting club. Furthermore, we highly value teamwork and personal responsibility because we want every engagement team to build trust among its members and work as a cohesive unit to provide the best recommendations for our clients. In addition, to bridge any educational gaps we offer comprehensive training workshops for all members!
What majors are you looking for?
We are not looking for any major or single experience. The nature of healthcare consulting allows for the inclusion of members from all aspects of life. Members that have had primarily clinical experiences have been able to use their experiences in improving patient satisfaction whereas members that have had an administrative background have used their background to solve many of the financial constraints nonprofits suffer from. Our club can only benefit from our members having varied experiences.
What is the time commitment for a CYC Health Member?
Members are expected to commit 3 - 4 hours a week, which includes research work, team meetings, and regular client meetings. This time commitment can vary depending on how you and your team decide to spread out the work.
